Spitz designed the dome’s 4,000-star night sky using fiber-optics placed at the dome’s surface to create realistic constellations. The multi-purpose dome serves as a projection surface for lighting effects, cloud projection and other multi-media projections. The 150-foot diameter sky is one of the largest projection domes in the world.

Spitz supplied a lightweight aluminum dome that satisfied BDP’s technical needs and provided a brilliant backdrop with a global spin on Scottish engineering.

Spitz created a structure featuring three overlapping sections meant to resemble the petals of a flower. The structure houses an audio system, while moving lights and other projections are displayed on its surface.
